Jon Thurston is one of Team Canada’s premier wheelchair curlers. Jon was selected to Team Canada in 2019. Team Canada, noticing Jon’s marksmanship, decided to put him in the pressure situation of throwing the 4th rocks.
Thurston is the proud recipient of four medals, two bronze and two silver, one from the 2019 Canadian championship, two from World in 2020 and 2023, and one from the 2022 Winter Paralympics. In March, 2023, The Canadian team won the Silver Medal (China 5-2) in the World Wheelchair Championships.
Besides wheelchair curling, he is one of Canada’s top water skiers with a disability.
Jon’s talk centred around the 2022 Paralympics and Canada winning a Bronze Medal!
