Throughout the year our members participate in a wide variety of events. At our meetings, members have the opportunity to hear from a member of the community who brings a wealth of information on community issues, events and projects to the Club, and who is available to answer any questions the members may have.

Of course, one of the best parts of the meeting is the social interaction when everyone arrives and during our morning coffee breaks. Many new friendships have been made through participation in Probus.
At the September 2017 Annual General Meeting Probus members elected Margaret Gadd. pictured at right, as the current President of the Club. Check our About Us page for a list of our other Club Officers.

Probus is a world-wide organization, an offshoot from Rotary, with a large group of Clubs in Canada. The name Probus is an acronym for Pro(fessional) and Bus(iness) and has people from all walks of life as members. It has become so popular that along with the Peterborough Club there are several Clubs throughout the Northumberland County area, as well as a Club in Lakefield and District, the Lindsay Womens Club, and the Lindsay Mens club .
Probus Clubs worldwide are not service organizations and are non-sectarian and non-political, although members are largely active volunteers in many community organizations. Clubs are formed to provide social events and schedule speakers to keep members up to date with community issues and happenings. Many members have formed smaller interest groups for hobbies such as sports, entertainment, playing bridge, fishing, travel, computers, etc.
